summer work presentation notes:
I did not create a formal presentation or PowerPoint for my meeting with Ms. Lepi/Ms. Carsley, so I will just post my notes/talking points here:
-Results of my summer work (all published on website): 6 activities/worksheets (covering units 1-5 of Algebra I book + 1 miscellaneous)
-Development of my outcome goal/how things have changed:
-Rather than creating full lesson plans, I am now shooting for supplemental activity based worksheets (in a higher quantity
than I initially intended)
-Reasons:
1. Desire to focus entirely on applications rather than also having to teach the basic mathematical concept (this gave
rise to the idea of building worksheets around the math curriculum)
2. Supplemental worksheets are more versatile/applicable for use in an actual classroom
-Future Plans:
-Overall goal: 15-20 worksheets (finish Algebra I book, and then freestyle?)
-Note: continual process of revising plays a major role in my future work
-Possibility of reaching out to a math teacher(s) to see if they would be interesting in testing any of the activities in their class)

Fall Goals:
Here is what I will be working on over the summer:
1. Researching various applications of math which could be highlighted in the lesson plans
2. Developing at least 5 challenges/lessons (can be amended in the future)
3. Updating the materials/finances list

Summer Goals
-Create answer keys (or sample solutions) for each of the worksheets I made over the summer
-Create 3-4 more worksheets before winter break
-Create 3-4 more worksheets before winter break
Second semester goals:
-Create at least 5 more worksheets/answer keys (preliminary plan: create 3 before Spring break and 2 during the break)
-Create a separate website to house/advertise my finished products (this is the website which I will hopefully continue working on after the timeline for the Fellows program comes to an end)

Home Stretch
-Finalize all worksheets/answer keys
-Get my website up to speed
-Create my presentation video/project description
